I am a personal trainer and fitness instructor at David Lloyd Swindon. I offer one to one personal training sessions as well as running my own group exercises classes.
My PT sessions are always individually tailored with my clients’ goals in mind. I pride myself in helping others to learn how they can master their own body and feel confident in themselves through encouraging hard work and positive attitude towards exercise.
On top of this I ensure every one of my group exercise classes are approached with high energy and positivity, to help others to push themselves in each class whilst having fun at the same time.
What were you doing before you became a PT?
Before taking on personal training at David Lloyd I worked there for over a year in various roles across the club. However, becoming a personal trainer was always my goal and where my passion lies.
How did you interest in fitness develop?
My interest in fitness started as it does with a lot of young lads, in my bedroom doing sit ups trying to have a six pack by tomorrow. Eventually I took myself to the gym when I was around 14, repeating the same 6 exercises I saw on YouTube every week.
Over a few months I started to learn some basics of training and began to build myself a programme. Admittedly my programme was a bunch of rubbish, mainly consisted of exercises I enjoyed and ignored anything I didn’t. Over a few months I began to see some physical improvements which motivated me more to keep going to the gym.
By the time I turned 16 I was visiting the gym 6 days a week and was really becoming fascinated with what I could achieve. 2 and a half years later, that little fascination turned into a passion to always be improving myself, with a simple goal to be the best version of myself I could be. I wanted to take everything I had learnt so far and help others with my knowledge and experience, to encourage them to not only turn their lives around, but to also find that fascination I did when I was 16. Ultimately leading to me to the position I am in today, a personal trainer with a growing passion for fitness.
When did you decide to pursue your career as a Person Trainer?
Mid way through my second year in college I was met with an opportunity to become a personal trainer. At that time, I wasn’t yet planning on becoming a PT for a couple of years, however when the opportunity came up, I was more than excited to take it.
Why did you choose T2 Fitness Education?
I first learned about T2 Fitness through a recommendation from another personal trainer. My first course with the T2 team was the level 2 gym instructor course, and it was as great as every other course following has been.
I keep choosing to further my education with T2 Fitness Education because of the great experience I have with them each time. Not only do they offer a wide range of qualifications, but each course is taught with a high degree of understanding and the team always ensures there are no questions left unanswered.
What have you found most helpful about the course(s)
Each course is delivered with expert knowledge, a high level of understanding plus an engaging and fun hands-on way of learning.
The most useful thing about working with T2 Fitness is the long term relationship they maintain even after you complete a course with them. I have always felt welcome to get in touch with the team after my first course with them. Whether it’s about a course related topic or anything else to do with the fitness industry, T2 are a great contact to have for anyone working in fitness.
What advice do you have for others who want to train to become a PT or instructor?
